Switch to renewable energy. This is one of the easiest ways for technology companies to reduce their environmental impact. Switching to renewables can have huge payoffs, such as less fuel needed in transportation and being able to power entire data centers with solar or wind power. 

Encourage employees to turn off equipment when not in use. According to industry experts, office lights are often left on for no reason when people leave for the day, and this little bit of wastefulness can add up fast. 

Promote reuse over recycling. Recycling is an excellent way of reducing waste, but it's also crucial for manufacturers and consumers. Reuse items as much as possible instead of throwing them away. Seek second-hand stores and make clothes from old fabrics instead of buying new ones. 

Use alternative materials like hemp, which require fewer fertilizers than cotton production (Hemp requires only about half the amount). Consider investing in quality products that last longer - saving you money in the long run!
